How the Filtersorb SP3 System Works
The “classical” water-softening unit operates on the basis of ion exchange; exchanging calcium and magnesium ions in water with an equivalent amount of sodium (Salt). When a water softener is used, the result is not only soft water, but also increased sodium content in the water supply. Additionally, these softening units require water for backwashing and common Brine water “salt water” for regeneration.
Filtersorb SP3 is catalytic media that prevents the formation of scale and eliminates existing scale by accelerating the transformation of the calcium and magnesium minerals into harmless “Nano” crystal particles. As these nano crystal particles flow through plumbing systems, they do not attach to pipes, fixtures, valves, or heating elements; the result is 99% scale prevention without adding harmful minerals or chemicals into our environment.

Filtersorb SP3 Anti-Scale Media And Nano Technology
What is Nanotechnology?
Nanotechnology is a multidisciplinary field in that it involves a spectrum of disciplines to include but not limited to physics, engineering, and chemistry. The science of nanotechnology enables the transformation of everyday materials into revolutionary technologies and today is used in a number of applications such as medical devices, computer devices, car converters, and water filters. In fact, for centuries the methodologies of nanotechnology have been used, such as in the creation of colors in stained glass windows. The difference today, is that we now have greater knowledge and understanding of nanotechnology and are able to apply this revolutionary science more readily and design nano materials for specific purposes.
How does Filtersorb SP3 Filtration Process Work?
Boyett’s Family Rayne Water Conditioning has embraced the cutting edge science of nanotechnology and through extensive research and development has developed the catalytic Filtersorb SP3 filtration media used to prevent and remove calcium scale. The overall filtration process of the Filtersorb SP3 is broken down into three phases:
In the first phase, the calcium and magnesium is removed from the water. The catalytic surface of the Filtersorb media pulls the calcium and magnesium ions from the water and converts these ions into harmless nano crystal particles. These ano crystals are so small that they are approximately on billionth of a meter; 100,000 times smaller than a single strand of hair.
In the second phase of the filtration process, the existing scale in the piping and hardware is removed. The nono crystal particles are neutral and are unable to attach to any surfaces, but due to their large surface area and nano structure, bind to the calcium ions in the scale, gradually breaking the grid structure of the calcium deposits. Over time, the calcium scale deposits within the pipes and equipment are completely removed.
I the third phase and final phase filtration process, a 3 to 5 micron protective corrosion layer is formed. This layer forms because of the reaction of the nano surface of the crystals and the metallic surface of the pipes. This is comparable to the green layer of verdigris on a copper roof. As soon as the protective layer is formed it can no longer grow bigger, but it creates complete protection.
Presently Filtersorb SP3 is successfully used in a number of applications for both residential and commercial usages. Virtually maintenance free, Chemical free, and salt free, Filtersorb SP3 media has proven to be an effective environmental alternative where benefits and overall performance surpasses competitors.

Filtersorb SP3 Salt less Anti-Scale Media
The technologically advanced Filtersorb SP3 Salt less Anti-Scale media is an innovative solution that prevents all of the negative effects of calcium and magnesium, while allowing the positive health benefits to remain. The system is maintenance free, chemical free, salt free and does not require costly regeneration and backwashing.
The Principal Behind our Anti-Scale Media
The principal behind our salt less anti-scale media is quite simple. The Filtersorb SP3 salt less anti-scaler media acts as a catalyst by accelerating the transformation of the calcium and magnesium minerals into harmless “Nano” partcles. When the inlet water goes into the water conditioner, the up flow pulls the water through the fluidized Filtersorb SP3 media which then acts as a catalyst and pulls the harness minerals of calcium and magnesium out of the solution and then transforms these minerals into inactive Nano crystal particles. Because the harmless minerals have been transformed into Nano particles, these Nanoscopic particles make their way through plumbing systems without attaching on to pipes, fixtures, valves, or heating elements. An important secondary benefit is that the exiting scale in pipes and equipment is also dissolved over time. The manganese and calcium already built up on the walls of pipes and equipment will slowly dissolve and in just a few short weeks mineral build up will be eliminated.
Filtersorb SP3 Saltless Anti-Scale Media Development
Our environment safe Filtersorb SP3 salt less anti-scale media was initially developed by Watch Water Germany to serve as an alternative to commercial softeners used for scale control. Because commercial softeners discharge sodium into waste water supplies during the regeneration process, many of our European companies were faced with expensive discharge government permits and need a cost effective alternative. Another reason for the development of the Filtersorb SP salt less anti-scale media was to address the heightened concern by European health and research agencies that trough the removed from home water supplies and causing serious health problems due to the lack of these vital minerals and excess of sodium in the drinking water. The Filtersorb SP3 salt less anti-scale media developed by this company addresses both of these concerns and is a major break though in the anti-scaling water treatment market for both commercial and residential applications and has proven to be a successful alternative to commercial and residential softeners.

Boyett’s Family Rayne Water Conditioning installed a new salt free water conditioner in my home.
Member Comments:
I had done my research as to what type of water conditioner I wanted installed in my home. It had to provide good tasting, odor free water at all faucets, it had to waste no water and reduce/eliminate scale build up in my pipes. I spoke to Brian at Boyett’s Family Rayne Water Conditioning and he said they had a new system that was being installed in his home but had not installed anywhere else but if I was willing to try it they would install one in my home. We agreed to a date and it was installed very professionally.
This new water conditioner exceeds all my expectations to date we have great tasting water, no chlorine odor and I am not dumping 100's of gallons of salt water down the drain.
I highly recommend this water conditioning system and Boyett’s Family Rayne Water Conditioning located in Mesa, Arizona.

Provided a new water conditioning media at our request .
Member Comments:
We originally ordered and utilized the Eliminator B100 from Boyett Family Rayne Water Conditioning. This system worked extremely well and the install was great. When we read of a newer system provided by this company we decided to try it.
The Filtersorb Media reduces the hard water scale but does not provide a true "soft" water experience. It also removes the chlorine and other chemicals from our water for use.
We are pleased with this product. Another great benefit of this system is that it does not use salt or electricity. This system runs with water pressure only.
So now we have the ideal system for us! Yay!

Subject: Info. on our new water "softner" system
We are extremely please with this new system.
I didn't want to say anything too quickly because I wanted to make sure of what I was talking about.
Here is what we noticed so far:
the spot residue has left the bathroom faucets - the kitchen faucet is new and is a brushed finish so we can't count that
the build-up of white particles on the hall shower (which Cathy uses everyday) is going away- hurrah!
the dishes from the dish washer are sparkling - no spots and we haven't changed any of the products we used
we don't have to watch weekly for the warning that the softner will run
our clothes are feeling softer especially the wash cloths
the clothes are also smelling cleaner - we haven't changed laundry soap
Mom said to me this morning, "Cathy this is how our water used to be years ago and I thought we'd never see this again."
We are so glad we found you and I (Cathy) have been talking to people I knows who have water softners. So I'll keep talking!
Brian,
I need direction as to what I am to put in the Better Business Bureau information. I want the info to be direct and to the point. Because people usually won't read too much unless they are serious about finding information.
Your service to us has been priceless and we can't thank you enough for inventing a quality product.
Sincerely,
Cathy Spencer

When I received this e mail today I was surprised:
It is my policy not to publicly endorse companies because of my four decades of being a newspaper reporter. I just don't want to get into any potential conflicts of interest.
I am happy to report that all my water issues have been resolved. The yucky taste and cloudy water are gone.
So we need to set up monthly payments. I prefer automatic payments and any time in the last week of the month would be ideal.
Thanks for the excellent service.
I have been getting the messages about the Tuesday music events and plan to go one of those days. For some reason, I have been unusually busy lately.

I had a very positive experience with both ****** ******, who came out to discuss my desire for the salt free water conditioner and the (in my mind) possible difficult installation. I have a lot of stuff in my garage. The installer was very prompt and very informative of what he was going to do in the installation. He did an excellent job in the installation as well as the explanation of how the whole plumbing and bypass (if needed) system worked. Being of the 'Trust but Verify' generation, I purchased water test strips from the pet store (fish aquarium section). My baseline was the water in the backyard hose that did not get flushed, result=HARD 300 ppm. One week later, the water from my kitchen sink, result=SOFT 25 ppm. And the added bonus would be the carbon filter that makes the water out of my bathroom sink actually taste GOOD! Thank you Boyette Family Rayne Water Conditioning.

My parents use Boyett for both the under counter RO system and for the water softener rentals... We just moved here and into a house 20 years old that has never had treated water... needless to say - our pipes are full of deposits, our water is gross and extremely hard. After speaking with ******, he was able to come out (late at that to accommodate our schedules)and to give us the run-down. We didn't really want a water "softener but he had our solution with the Filtersorb - it gives us the better quality water we wanted, but will help our pipes too (without the added sodium and slickness from a softener) which is what we wanted. We were going out of town for the weekend, but he was able to send the installation person on a Friday morning and he was done way before we had to leave. There was potential for him to have to mess up our stucco on the exterior of our home to get the system installed, but he went up into the attic and cut a hole in the dry wall inside of the garage instead (so much happier about this - we can fix drywall) and in case we did have to mess with the stucco, he had a reference that we would have used if we had to... anyway... we had the system installed in a couple of hours, nothing on the exterior of our garage had to be done, we have a beautiful couple of tanks in our garage, he cleaned up his mess and the paperwork was a breeze... knowing that in four years, they will replace it for free is pretty awesome, and knowing if there are any issues between now and then is also pretty awesome. We were happy with the install price and we are happy with the monthly fee. Our water tastes better and I am happy that (eventually) our pipes will be in better shape and the accumulation will be greatly reduced... they also gave my parents a $50 credit for referring us... cool & easy company to work with.

Replaced our traditional water softener with a Filtersorb environmental friendly unit. Installation was quick and simple. The technician also found during final testing that our home pressure regulator was bad likely savings us from a disaster. We noticed immediately that the hot water is now "hotter" and the water looks clearer.

Time Scale:
Fast crystallization processes have a greater tendency to form stable crystals than slow process.
This figure demonstrates crystallization of insoluble Calcium carbonate in the presence of glass layered double coating (LDC). The meta-stable aragonite phase is preferentially stablilized over the thermodynamically more stable calcite phase. Only in the presence of this insoluble surface such aragonite particles posses an unconventional "ROSETTE-LIKE" morphology.
In all conventional surfaces without the LDC, intermediate stages of the crystallization, another meta-stable phase, vaterite, having a flaky-floret like crystallization which creates calcite scale. The presence of glass layer on the surface of ceramic polymer (LDC) is called selective nucleation of calcium carbonate.
The role of "non-soluble" glass-ions in affecting the "polymorph selectivity" is many times better than ions based on Calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2), leaching out of beads without such glass layered double coating.
This is the first scale prevention media using LDC as an "insoluble inorganic material" to promote polymorph selectivity in calcium carbonate. This has a huge potential significance in scale prevention as well as descale with nucleation bio-mineralization.
Biometric synthesis of calcium carbonate is called bio-mineralization process. However, to date, no other company in the world has obtained to create pure aragonite by transformation of calcium carbonate at room temperature.
